Policies
Policies
There are certain policies regarding our bike tours. Visit also the Happy Guide Helsinki website to see answers to Frequently Asked Questions on all our tour services. All the participants of a bike tour have to wear a helmet, which will be provided to you by your guide. There will also be a brief orientation in the beginning of every tour for the participants to get familiar with the bikes as well as local regulations and cultural differences in the traffic to make your bicycling experience in Finland the most happy and memorable!
Availability and minimum requirements
Our tours are available according to our guide availability. The sooner you contact us and are able to confirm your reservation (especially during the peak season), the better. Since we have to reserve and rent the bikes from our partners in advance, it is not possible to join the tour without an existing reservation. The minimum height of participant using our city cruiser bikes is 140 cm / 4’7″. We have some smaller bikes available for shorter / child participants but be mind-full when you consider a bike tour with a child: Helsinki is an easy-going city but we do ride in the city.
Our tours are easy-going sightseeing tours but as a minimum requirement to join our biking tours you do have to know how to ride a bike the way it is considered safe by the leading guide of your tour.
There’s always a minimum of one guide per eight participants on each tour.
Weather conditions
Weather on the coast of Finland changes fast because of the sea. That is why we have always both sun lotion and rain ponchos with us on the tours, and the city tours have 2-3 attractions for a visit inside. We cancel a tour only in the case of a fierce storm, very intense heat wave, or some kind of force majeure event that we find to be dangerous for participants. However, any of these above mentioned are extremely rare for Finland and its weather. In this case, advance payments will be non-refundable, also, if the cancellation happens by the customer within 48 hours prior to the tour the payments are not refundable.
Reservations and advance payments
Our tours are booked by making an email reservation in advance and we require confirming online credit card / prepayments via PayPal. The contact form in the page is the way for contacting us.
The full payment is possible to refund in the case of cancellation, also in PayPal when you’re paying for Goods & Services. If you’re representing a company, you can also pay as a SEPA payment / international wire transfer.
Customer safety, liability and cancellation policy
We as a responsible guided activity provider have a liability insurance as according to the Finnish legislation and as a sign of professional services. As a standard, we warmly recommend you to have your own personal travel insurance on all your journeys, though. We wish that you read our FAQ section carefully to find the answers to your possible questions regarding our tours. If there is still anything unclear left after that, please contact us by email with your questions and we will be happy to solve the issues and give more detailed answers.
Timetable changes and cancellations are accepted up to 48 h prior to the tour without a cost if not differently stated in your confirmation details. If the timetable change or cancellation would reach us later than this deadline, the payment is not refundable.
